Equality Act Compliance Report and Equality Objectives Consultation - Central and North West London PDF Print E-mail

Under the Equality Act 2010, all public authorities, which includes NHS Trusts, are required to publish an annual Equality Act Compliance Report.

Central and North West London NHS Trust (CNWL) is pleased to announce that it is has published its first Report in which is set out information regarding how equality and diversity is addressed within the Trust. Also included is information taken from Staff and Service User Surveys and Equalities Monitoring Data. The Report provides an opportunity for the Trust to review its actions and progress and to set these before staff, service users and other interested parties and stakeholders.
I very much welcome Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust’s first Equality Act Compliance Report which has been approved by the Trust’s Board of Directors.    As a Trust, we pride ourselves in the fact that we do engage with staff and service users to deepen our understanding of Equality themes, but that does not mean we should be complacent. Engaging with the communities that we serve and providing opportunities for service users and staff to feedback on their experiences are important features of our work.

Claire Murdoch, Chief Executive, CNWL.

Early in April 2012, the Trust will be publishing 4-year Equality Objectives and we welcome your views and your ideas as to the areas that the Trust should prioritise for action. A feedback form is available for you to use.  The feedback needs to be returned by 24th February.

We cannot guarantee to include everything within the Trust's Equalities Objectives, we need to ensure that what we set out to do is realistic and achievable, and that we tackle priority areas.

The CNWL Equality Act Compliance Report and consultation form for feedback can both be accessed at:   http://www.cnwl.nhs.uk/equality_diversity_documents.html#one

Thank you for your assistance.
